What happens when you mix restlessness, angst, distorted guitars, soaring vocals, theatrics, and a penchant for loud rock music with an unquenchable thirst to escape the dry-ass desert? Enter female-fronted power rock trio, Jane N' The Jungle. With over one million streams on Spotify with editorial playlisting on All New Rock, Fierce Femmes, and Women of Rock Radio, the group poised to release their EP Ocean Creatures on 3/11/2022 with a bang.
Chuck Alkazian produced the collection of unapologetic rock songs with visuals provided by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera (NIN, Corey Taylor). Hailing from Phoenix, AZ, the hook-laden rock band on the rise consists of fierce, dynamic modern rock with 90's alt and a twist of punk attitude, pulling inspiration from Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, and No Doubt. With this body of work and the return of touring (fingers crossed), front-woman/songwriter Jordan White, guitarist Brian Dellis, and bassist Bryan Dague aka "Big B," are geared to be on the radar of every rock fan across the globe in short order.
The title track "Ocean Creatures" dropping with the EP is the final installment and combines two worlds from the depths of the oceans to the interwoven heights of space. The EP was born from vocalist Jordan White's out-of-body experience she felt after being hit by a red light driver: stuck in a moment that she thought she was going to die. White explains, "I couldn't identify the sensation; it was like imagining ocean creatures flying in space thinking that they were probably angels. That's the imagery that came to mind when writing the song."
The first track, "Animal," was inspired by the Australian Bush Fires, and the second single, "Lucky 7," recaps a fun night the band had hanging out at Longhorns while playing a show in Las Vegas in 2019. The band returned to the legendary Pearl Sound Studios in Detroit a year later to record the remaining tracks. "Trouble" was released in April 2021 and is the band's hard rock song that received Spotify Editorial, Music Choice, MTV Spankin' New, and rock radio features. "Ain't No Other Way" dropped September 2021 with Gibson's custom Jane N' The Jungle guitar giveaway and was featured on Matt Pinfield's "New and Approved" show on KLOS FM Los Angeles. American terrestrial rock radio then caught wind and spun the song across the country. The band has a Livestream concert scheduled for April at the Gibson Guitar Showroom in Los Angeles to raise money for Make A Wish AZ. Gibson will also be in the studio with the band as they cut their next EP.
In addition to media accolades from and inclusions by the aforementioned outlets, Jane N' The Jungle have caught the attention of Music Choice, Alt Press, Huffington Post, Medium, Metal Injection, Women that Rock, Loud Women, Max Alt, The Hype Magazine, New Noise Punktastic, PHX New Times, AZ Central, and airplay on Sirius XM, KOZE, KLAQ, KQXR, WTPT, WRKZ, KCMQ, KILO, KWSS, KUPD, KDKB, KFMA, KFML, Jonathan L Best of 2020.
