Friends create support fund to assist ailing Rachelle Ferrell


Singer and songwriter extraordinaire Rachelle Ferrell is reportedly going through some unfortunate health and life-related hardships, and her friends are gathering together to try to help. While details of Rachelle's challenges are somewhat vague to protect her privacy, The Rachelle Ferrell Fund has been formed to allow her friends and fans to contribute to help the 62 year old vocalist, and we’re all for that.


The note associated with the fund says, “Award winning singer/songwriter Rachelle Ferrell urgently needs our support through health, wellness, and life-related hardships. If you’ve been touched by her 30 plus years of blessings or been a part of the musical family she shared a meaningful and purposeful life with, please consider donating here today.”


Born in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Ferrell grew up in a musical family and began playing piano at the age of six. She attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied composition and arrangement. After graduation, she began performing in various jazz clubs and soon caught the attention of some of the industry's top musicians.


Ferrell's career began as a background singer for Lou Rawls, Patti LaBelle and others, and her prowess won for her a recording contract with Capitol Records. Read More
