Bitch states, "I'm proud to be an out musician and celebrate the people who came before me and paved the way. Melissa Etheridge pours her heart out in this song. That feeling of the desperate longing of new love resonated with me from when I first heard it years ago, probably in a lezzie bar somewhere. I can still picture everyone singing along when the chorus kicks in. Reimagining it for Pride 2021 is a dream come true!"
“Come to My Window” originally appeared on Melissa Etheridge’s 1993 album, Yes I Am. “Come to My Window” was the album’s first single and won a Grammy. This track is repeatedly on lists that celebrate the best Pride songs.
Bitch has been a fixture in the queer music scene for over 20 years. She first burst onto the scene with her band, Bitch and Animal. After going solo, she released an album on Kill Rock Stars, toured with The Indigo Girls, Melissa Ferrick and Jay Brannan, produced two albums of her folk Idol Ferron, played herself in John Cameron Mitchell’s (Hedwig and The Angry Inch) “Shortbus,” co-wrote a song with Margaret Cho, and licensed her music to The L Word.
After taking an 8 year hiatus from releasing music, she had the time and space to get conscious of the kind of music she wanted to make. Veering from her folk-punk roots, Bitch is back and will be releasing her ninth studio album on Kill Rock Stars in 2022.

"It’s SINGLE RELEASE DAY here at Bitch headquarters! I was asked by Kill Rock Stars to cover a gay anthem, and you know I had to go DEEP. I chose Melissa Etheridge’s “Come To My Window” because it is a great song, speaks to the agony of love, and takes me back to the lesbian bars of my youth." B*tch
